My name is Camilla, but I’ve been known to answer to an incomprehensible number of other things. I was a grammar-obsessed legal academic for about a decade and was privileged to attend some wonderful law schools (Oxford for my doctorate, Harvard for my master’s, and London and Bologna for my bachelor’s). But as most of us come to find out when we leave the ivory tower behind, to survive in the real world you need a little bit more than that.
Thankfully, I made sure to sharpen my skills and gather some awesome experience along the way. I undertook incredibly meaningful assignments as a lawyer that included fighting sexual exploitation and abuse of children in Liberia, defending the condemned on death row in Louisiana, and working on safe zones in armed conflict at the UN in New York City, along with some not-so-exciting stuff in property, criminal, and corporate law.
Why is that relevant to content marketing? Because throughout that time, I learned not to take any crap from people. I also learned how to be highly analytical in just about everything. You need both of those things to filter out the meaningless fluff in content marketing. You can’t market with fluff – people have no time for that sh*t.
In those lawyerin’ years, I also established a handful of businesses. One of them, you may not be surprised to hear, was a content writing business.
Fast forward several years and I’ve produced over two million words of content for over two hundred clients. I’m highly experienced in digital marketing and am lucky to have a roster of loyal clients who simply refuse to go anywhere else.
I have also learned a heck of a lot about how to build businesses. When you combine exceptional content with a deep understanding of business development, you have a powerful recipe for growth and success.
